Community Building

BEE hosts social events throughout the year to help graduate students of all identities to connect with each other and with faculty.
  • BEE organizes breakfasts and happy hours periodically during the academic year. These informal events build community, and allow women and URM graduate students to catch up on research, and share personal updates with one another.
  • BEE hikes are social events that also help support academic efforts since mental fitness and wellness have long been linked to physical activity.
  • BEE faculty lunches provide students with opportunities for students to interact with faculty with similar identities in a casual environment.
  • BEE hosts an annual job market panel, where women and URM candidates share their unique experiences in the economics job market.
